地球氣侯之大巨變讓人類面臨生存挑戰。

過去大家都以為全球暖化是將來才會發生的問題，沒想到這幾年極端氣候已經造成許多災難。

地球氣候到底發生什麼事，為什麼可以知道極端氣候和全球暖化有關呢？

讓蘇慧博士告訴您答案和這些氣候數據是從哪裡來的!!

美國太空總署(NASA)、海洋大氣局、歐洲空間局(ESA)等機構，使用一系列衛星監測我們的海洋、大氣、陸地和海冰變化，對人類理解氣候變化和預測地球未來至關重要。

蘇慧博士將為大家介紹，NASA是如何用衛星來測量地球溫度、溫室氣體濃度、海平面高度，海冰面積等重要氣候變化指標，以及如何使用衛星來監測極端天氣和自然災害，像是颱風，洪水，野火，火山爆發等。

經歷：

蘇慧, 本科畢業於北京大學地球物理系，1998年在美國華盛頓大學獲得大氣科學博士學位。 1998 年至2005年在加州大學洛杉磯分校任助理研究員。

2005年至2022在美國宇航局噴氣推進實驗室工作，擔任地球氣侯變化的首席科學家及天氣領域項目總管。

蘇慧博士曾獲噴氣推進實驗室Lew Allen傑出青年科學家獎, Edward Stone傑出科研成果獎, 並兩次榮獲美國宇航局頒發的傑出科學成就勳章。

蘇慧博士是美國地球物理研究通訊雜誌編輯和美國氣象學會會士。

她於2022年九月加入香港科技大學土木和環境工程系任終身教授，獲香港賽馬會資助的全球科技教授人才計劃。

Bio: Hui Su received a B.Sc. in Atmospheric Dynamics from Peking University in 1991 and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington in 1998. Currently, she is a principal scientist and weather discipline program manager in Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). She worked as a Staff Research Associate and Assistant Researcher at UCLA from 1998 to 2005 prior to working at JPL.  Dr. Su received the JPL Lew Allen Award for Excellence in 2008, NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal in 2010 and JPL Edward Stone Award in 2021. She is an Editor of the Geophysical Research Letter. She was elected as a Fellow of American Meteorological Society in 2021. Starting in mid-September 2022, Hui Su becomes a chair professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
